The Braves came up empty Friday night as the Campbell River Storm doubled them up 2-1 at Pearkes Arena.

Ben Kantor stopped 25 of the 27 shots he faced. Closing the door the last 47 minutes of the game.
It was the Storm burying first, 2:34 in to it as Jordan Suzuki stopped a Braves clearing shot out in the Braves zone and rifled it over the pad of Kantor.
Five minutes later the Storm scored the game winner as Steven Schmidt carried the puck into the Braves zone, waited patiently with the puck, then fooled Kantor with a quick snap shot under his glove. Andy Crisp with the lone assist.
Storm out shooting the Braves 9-7. Two minors called on the Braves by referee Ian Zibin, one on the visitors.
Just one goal in the middle 20 and it was on a Braves power play as Waterfield took a Trevor Yee pass and ripped it into the corner behind Tyler Bachmeier. Ryan Toporowski with the second assist.
Two minors called on the Storm and a fighting major to Dylan Behan. One minor called on the Braves and a fighting major to Blaine Carey who landed his fair share of rights. Braves with the shot advantage 14-10.
No goals in the final period but the Braves thought they had tied it up with 12 seconds remaining as Zibin's arm went up in the air for an elbowing major to Schmidt, the whistle blew as Ty Jones was shooting the puck into an empty net as Bachmeier was caught down and out of position. The Braves with full puck possession when the whistle blew it down.
Storm out shooting the Braves in the third period 8-7. Braves with the 28-27 overall advantage. Two minors called on the Braves, and just the elbowing major (game misconduct) called on the Storm.
The Braves head north on Sunday to Campbell River to have a rematch with the Storm, puck drops at 7:30pm.
